Model Legislature

MODEL UNITED NATIONS/MOCK ASSEMBLY/PARLIAMENT

Students are encouraged to take part in MODEL UNITED NATIONS /Mock Assembly/Parliament. The Mock Sessions of UN Conferences and the Legislative bodies would entice the students towards developing intellectual capacities of raising public problems and exhibit the qualities of leadership in the respective Houses miming themselves as Representatives of the People/Nations and try to get solvation to the problems by enacting the laws or by passing resolutions in the International Platforms. We conduct special sessions for imparting training to the students lending support from external Resource Persons and experts.

Orientation on the Model Legilature-Adarsha Vidhana Mandali (2019-20)
Orientation on Model Legilature was organized on 31st August 2019. Sri N Harish, Advocate, High Court of Karnataka was the chief speaker.

The main objective of conducting this orientation session was to train the students for the model parliament competition organized by various law colleges. Sir started the session by talking about the importance of conducting such competitions and how helpful it will be for the students. He explained in detail the parliamentary procedures of the Presidential address in the joint sitting of the parliament, motion of thanks, question hour, passing of the bills in the different stages etc. He also briefed about the decorum and behavioral mannerisms in the parliamentary halls. The importance of wearing proper costumes was also highlighted by him. Video clipping of the recorded presidential address and motion of thanks was also showcased to the students.

The session concluded with the demonstration of the parliamentary sessions by the students participating in the model parliament competition.
